Hashi (also called Bridges or Hashiwokakero) is a calm connectivity puzzle. You link islands with bridges until every number is satisfied and the whole map forms one connected group.
Rules
- Islands show a number: the exact count of bridges that must touch that island.
- You may draw one or two bridges between a pair of islands (never more).
- Bridges run horizontally or vertically — never diagonally — and cannot cross other bridges or islands.
- When finished, you must be able to travel between any two islands via bridges.
Beginner tips
- Start with islands that have high numbers relative to their neighbors — they force early bridges.
- An island with only one possible neighbor must connect there (often with a double bridge if the number is 2+).
- If two islands both need many bridges and face each other with clear space, a double bridge is often required.
- Never isolate a group of islands before the rest of the map can connect.
